Arbutus College does not operate its own student residences and does not arrange housing directly for students, but it points students to independent and well established homestay providers and there are many private student housing options near the downtown campus. Typical options include staying with a local homestay family or renting a room in a shared student residence or apartment in central Vancouver.
- Benefit: immersion in Canadian daily life through homestay or central city living, often including meals in homestay arrangements
- Room: single or twin rooms in homestays or private rooms and studios in student residences and shared apartments
- Facilities: furnished rooms, internet access, shared kitchen and laundry facilities, access to public transport and city amenities
- Price range: homestays and shared rooms commonly start from about CAD 1,100 per month, while purpose built student residences in downtown Vancouver can range from about CAD 1,500 to 3,000 per month depending on room type and location
